1. Overview

This document sets out the terms for participation in the DVSA Pass Plus scheme and for standalone motorway driving lessons delivered by [Your Name] ([Business Name]).

Pass Plus is a nationally recognised practical training course designed by the DVSA to help newly qualified drivers improve their skills and safety. Completion of Pass Plus may entitle the driver to a reduced insurance premium from participating insurers.

2. DVSA Pass Plus — Six Modules

The Pass Plus course covers six modules as defined by the DVSA. The Instructor is a registered Pass Plus trainer (DVSA Pass Plus trainer code: [Trainer Code — or leave blank if not applicable]).

Module Content Summary Individual cost
1. Town driving Urban hazards, junctions, pedestrian crossings, road positioning [£XX / incl.]
2. All-weather driving Rain, fog, ice, reduced visibility — braking distances and hazard awareness [£XX / incl.]

Modules may be taken individually or as a full course. The Instructor recommends completing all six modules to qualify for the DVSA Pass Plus certificate.

3. Pass Plus Certificate and Insurance Benefits

On successful completion of all six modules, the Instructor will submit the Pass Plus record to the DVSA and the driver will receive a DVSA Pass Plus certificate. The driver can then contact their insurer (or comparison sites) to apply for the associated discount.

Insurance savings are not guaranteed and depend entirely on the driver's individual insurer. The Instructor makes no representation regarding the level of discount available. Drivers are advised to obtain quotes independently.

The DVSA requires that all six modules are completed to the Pass Plus standard before a certificate is issued. If any module is assessed as not yet at the required standard, additional sessions may be required at the standard hourly rate before the certificate can be submitted.

4. Motorway Lessons — Eligibility

Legal requirement: Under the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999 as amended, motorway driving lessons may only be given to drivers who hold a full driving licence (not a provisional licence). Learner drivers are not permitted to drive on motorways, even in a dual-control vehicle.

Before any motorway session, the driver must confirm:

I hold a full UK driving licence (Category B or above) — licence checked and confirmed on:
I have never had my driving licence revoked or had it restricted to motorway driving.
I am not subject to any court order or DVLA restriction preventing motorway driving.

5. Instructor Vehicle Standards for Motorway Driving

Motorway sessions are conducted in the Instructor's dual-control vehicle, which meets the following standards:

6. Insurance Implications

During sessions (including motorway sessions), the driver is covered under the Instructor's motor insurance policy for tuition purposes. The driver's own insurance policy is not required to cover the Instructor's vehicle.

Following completion of Pass Plus or motorway sessions, the driver is advised to notify their own insurer of the additional training completed. Some insurers may require the DVSA certificate number to apply any discount.

7. Fees and Payment

Pass Plus modules and motorway sessions are charged at:

Payment is due on the same terms as standard lessons. The full course fee may be paid in advance to secure the discounted course rate.

8. Cancellations

Standard cancellation policy applies (see the separate Cancellation Policy document). For module sessions that involve significant travel (e.g. motorway sessions requiring a drive to the nearest motorway junction), a minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to avoid any cancellation charge.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
