This agreement is between [Your Name], trading as [Business Name] (the "Instructor"), and the pupil named below (the "Pupil"). The Instructor is a DVSA-registered Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), registration number [ADI Registration Number], licensed to give instruction in a motor vehicle on roads in Great Britain.
This agreement takes effect on the date signed below and governs all driving lessons and related services provided by the Instructor to the Pupil.
The Instructor will provide driving tuition as follows:
Lesson content will be structured in accordance with the DVSA's recommended learning syllabus (the "Driver's Record") and DVSA standards for pre-test training. The Instructor will provide guidance on the DVSA practical test standard throughout the course of tuition.
The current lesson rate is [£XX per hour / per lesson]. The Instructor will give at least 4 weeks' written notice of any fee increase.
Payment is due:
Where block bookings are purchased in advance, the block price is agreed at booking time and is not subject to mid-block fee increases. Block booking credits must be used within 8 weeks of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The Instructor reserves the right to suspend lessons if fees remain outstanding for more than [7 / 14] days.
The Instructor will advise the Pupil on their readiness to sit the DVSA practical driving test based on the DVSA's standard competencies. However, the Instructor cannot guarantee that the Pupil will pass the practical test. Responsibility for booking the practical test (including fees payable to DVSA) rests with the Pupil.
If the Pupil does not pass the practical test, lessons may continue at the standard hourly rate. No refund or credit is given in respect of lessons completed prior to an unsuccessful test attempt.

If the Instructor cancels due to illness or vehicle fault, the Pupil will receive a fully rescheduled session at no charge.
Lessons are conducted in the Instructor's dual-control vehicle, which is maintained to roadworthy standard and covered by appropriate motor insurance including business use and driving tuition. The Pupil must not interfere with the vehicle's dual-control equipment. Any damage caused to the vehicle by the Pupil's deliberate or reckless actions may be charged to the Pupil.
The Instructor processes personal data as a data controller under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. A full Privacy Notice is provided separately. Personal data is used solely to provide driving instruction and meet legal obligations, including any DVSA reporting duties.
The Instructor holds professional indemnity and public liability insurance. The Instructor's liability under this agreement is limited to the total lesson fees paid in the three months preceding any claim, save where liability cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury caused by negligence).
Either party may end this agreement at any time with [1 week / 2 weeks] written notice. The Instructor may terminate immediately if the Pupil is abusive, under the influence of substances, or otherwise creates an unsafe environment. Any unused pre-paid lesson credits will be refunded pro rata on termination.
This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be referred to the courts of England and Wales.
