This Cancellation Policy applies to all lessons and sessions booked with [Your Name] ([Business Name]). By booking a lesson, the Pupil agrees to these terms. This policy forms part of the Driving Lesson Service Agreement.
Cancellations must be communicated directly to the Instructor by phone, text, or WhatsApp on [Your Phone Number]. Notice periods are measured from the time the Instructor receives the cancellation, not from when it was sent.
| Notice Given | Charge | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 48 hours or more | No charge — free reschedule | Lesson rescheduled at mutual convenience |
| 24–48 hours | 50% of lesson fee | [£XX] for a [X-hour] lesson |
| Under 24 hours | 100% of lesson fee | Full lesson fee is charged |
| No-show (no contact) | 100% of lesson fee | Full fee charged; lesson counted as used |
Cancellation charges may be invoiced separately or deducted from any pre-paid block balance.
Where a Pupil has purchased a block of lessons in advance:
In the interests of safety, the Instructor may cancel or postpone a lesson due to adverse weather conditions. The Instructor's decision is final in matters of road safety.
If the Instructor must cancel a lesson due to illness, injury, or a mechanical or safety fault with the teaching vehicle:
The Instructor aims to give at least 2 hours' notice of a cancellation where possible. In the event of a same-day emergency cancellation, the Instructor will endeavour to notify the Pupil before the scheduled pick-up time.
Rescheduled lessons are subject to availability. The Instructor cannot guarantee a specific timeslot for a rescheduled lesson and will offer available slots at mutual convenience. Rescheduled sessions must be taken within [4 / 8] weeks of the original cancelled lesson date.
Where a Pupil cancels with less than 24 hours' notice on three or more occasions within a 12-week period, the Instructor reserves the right to require payment in advance for all future lessons, or to terminate the agreement with appropriate notice.
Cancellation charges may be waived at the Instructor's sole discretion in the event of a genuine emergency (such as a bereavement, sudden illness requiring hospitalisation, or a road traffic accident). The Pupil may be asked for brief supporting information. Any waiver is given as a gesture of goodwill and does not set a precedent.
